Coiled Tubing

Drawing on a broad base of coiled tubing capabilities and a diverse fleet, Element delivers disciplined execution, reliable performance, and measurable value at the wellsite.

Coiled Tubing

Element provides coil and pumping services services across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and the Rockies Regions of the United Sates. Backed by experienced leadership and field-proven professionals, we combine fit-for-purpose equipment with disciplined execution to help our customers operate efficiently, safely, and with confidence.

Coiled Tubing Rigs

We operate one of the largest coiled tubing fleets in Canada. Coiled tubing rigs provide completion, stimulation and work-over services on long-reach horizontal and vertical wells. Our fleet is comprised of Generation II and III coiled tubing rigs, which are differentiated by their capability to service wells with varying depths and well pressures. The varied limit, capacity and coil diameter of our coiled tubing fleet make this equipment ideally suited to work in all facets of a customer’s horizontal well completion and work-over program.

Pre-Fracturing – Coiled tubing is used to complete pre-fracturing confirmation runs and/or place the tools used to isolate a portion of the wellbore during third-party oilfield service fracture stimulation.

Fracturing – Dependent on the design of the customer’s fracturing program, coiled tubing can be used in conjunction with a third-party fracturing company and possibly other service providers to frac-thru-coil, complete annular fracturing, convey and actuate sliding-sleeve tool assemblies or perform tubing conveyed plug-and-perf operations in the well.

Post-Fracturing – Once the fracturing has been completed, coiled tubing is used to complete post-fracturing confirmation runs, clean-outs and mill-outs/drill-outs of ball & seat systems. Coiled tubing can also be used for work-overs and to convey third party instrumentation and evaluation tools to confirm the results of the fracture treatment.

Gen IV

In 2025, we introduced our newest coil reel trailer. With spooling capability, 4K camera coverage, and remote operation from our command center, this system helps our customers operate more efficiently and safely.

Gen II

Gen II was the first masted coiled tubing rig built on a trailer for ECWS and has been continually perfected ever since.  The built-in mast eliminates the need for a crane, giving these units a small footprint and fast rig up time.  For well depths <5,500m, this rig is capable of having any well up and running in the least amount of time possible.  One conventional style rig is also available.

Electric Chemical Vans

A fully electric chemical‑pumping unit featuring four‑tote storage, a chemical pump skid, and seamless operation from the Pumper Control Cab. It delivers clean, efficient, all‑electric pumping performance in a compact, integrated design.

Fluid Pumpers

Coiled tubing rigs are supported by a fleet of fluid and nitrogen pumpers. Fluid pumpers maintain downhole circulation, provide ancillary acid/solvent treatments and inject friction reducers and other chemicals into the wellbore. Fluid pumpers also perform stand-alone pump-down work, pre-fracture testing and frac support work independent of the coiled tubing fleet.

Twin Quintuplex

Our Twin Quintuplex pumpers can provide high rates despite high pressure (up to 15K) applications. Ideal for standalone work, these pumpers are geared to outperform.

Specs:

    • Horsepower: 2×800; 2×1,000; 2×1,500
    • Pumping Pressure: 15,000 psi
Support Equipment

Whether performing operations with highly technical chemical requirements, remote fuel access long surface iron rig ups, sand suspension or hanging the injector high above the swab valve, we have the necessary equipment to make it happen without calling in a third party.

Chemical Addition Unit

Providing automated, closed loop and temperature controlled chemical injection directly into any pumping unit.

Iron Trailer

Carrying surface iron in varying sizes, additional hoses, fuel and anything else those extended jobs may require.

Trailered Chemical Addition Unit

The same principles as the chemical addition unit with greater storage capacity and pump flexibility. One trailer can support two pumps.

Fluid Rheology System

A fluid pumper and a chemical van provide real time monitoring and optimizing of fluid rheology by determining the Reynolds number to maintain an ideal flow regime. The benefits include: reduced cycle meters with fewer wiper trips, optimization of chemical consumption and reduced operating hours.

Advanced Fluid Simulation

Element provides superior tubing force analysis and accurate modeling for solids transport analysis, optimized post frac cleanout, friction losses, rheologies, dual-phase flow correlations, completions flow back, H2S inhibitor requirements, reverse circulation, abrasive perforation analysis and more.

Debris Management System (DMS™)

The DMS™ provides real-time qualitative measurement of solids and fluid return rate in the flowback line, allowing immediate action to be taken, depending on the DMS™ values displayed and recorded. The DMS™ is typically used in milling or clean-out operations.

External Erosion Rate Model (EERM)

Element’s External Erosion Rate Model (EERM) combines the industry’s largest real‑world coiled tubing erosion dataset with AI‑driven analysis to deliver highly accurate, field‑validated erosion predictions. By measuring coiled tubing (CT) wall thickness after every frac and correlating it with detailed treatment parameters, the model identifies reliable patterns that allow users to input variables such as annular velocity, fluid system, sand type, and sand tonnage to calculate expected erosion rates and define safe operating limits. This enables operators to predict remaining wall thickness before each stage, safely increase annular velocity, extend CT life, and reduce overall fracturing costs. With these insights, Element helps customers optimize frac design, pursue more aggressive pumping strategies, and even lower chemical usage without compromising safety or asset integrity.

Afron System

An engineered low‑density fluid designed to generate stable colloidal gas aphrons using a specialized blend of bio‑polymers and biodegradable surfactants, creating a highly effective debris‑carrying fluid with strong, stable viscosity. It rigs up seamlessly with coiled tubing units, uses a patented venturi method to induce air or nitrogen while preventing pump cavitation, and allows real‑time density control from 8.3 to 4.0 lb/gal. With an 80‑barrel onboard build capacity, integrated QA checks for density, viscosity, and sand content, and an all‑electric design with onboard power, the afron system delivers a reliable, high‑performance fluid solution for efficient wellbore cleanout and circulation.

Specialty Services

Fluid Management Systems: To ensure our customers can millout and cleanout long laterals in an efficient and economical way, we have developed a unique system for managing the composition and state of the workover fluids in real time.

To get optimum solids transport and safely minimize the number of wiper trips required, the technical team creates a Coiled Tubing Job Program in concert with our experienced field personnel. This well-specific program and real-time field execution create an ideal flow while allowing lower well treatment pressures.

Our commitment to customer service ensures the entire job scope is covered – from programming to execution to post-job wrap-up. Our process management and technical expertise allow real-time decisions to be made and communicated to all stakeholders.
